Couples often ask if I have worked at their venue. I understand why: you want someone who knows their way around.
My answer is that it matters less than it seems. These are the things I would weigh first.
What counts more
- Reading light in any room. Light changes with the season, the hour and the weather, even at a venue I have seen many times.
- Adapting fast. Timelines slip and rain arrives. The skill is finding the next good photograph when the plan changes.
- A fresh look at the place. Repeating the same spots gives you the same photographs as the last couple.
What to ask instead
- Can I see one wedding from start to finish? A full gallery shows far more than a highlight reel.
- Can I see a wedding in bad weather or a dark room?
- What do you need from us for the timeline?
You can start with our full weddings, or see the venues we have photographed.
